Sausages in the Air Fryer
Sausages brown well in an air fryer and don't need watching in a pan. Thick butcher's sausages and chipolatas need very different times, so treat these as a start.
Settings
Typical fan oven setting
170°C
20 to 25 minutes
Air fryer, to start from
150°C
16 to 20 minutes
These settings are a starting point, not a guarantee: air fryers and sausages vary. Undercooked sausages can cause food poisoning, so always check they're cooked through before eating. How to tell it's done.

Shaking and turning
Turn them every few minutes, or at least once halfway, so they colour all the way round.
How to tell it's done
Browned all over, steaming hot all the way through, no pink in the middle and the juices run clear. A thermometer is the surest check, with the same 75°C target as chicken.
What goes wrong
- Chipolatas can be done in well under the converted time. Check them early.
- Fat collects in the drawer. Pour it away between batches.
- Split skins are usually down to too much heat. Drop the temperature a little next time.
