Privacy
What this site collects, why, and what you can do about it. Last updated: 15 October 2026.
Who runs this site
Oven to Air is run by Josh Oladunni, who is responsible for the personal data described here (the “data controller”). For any privacy question or request, email hello@oventoair.com.
The short version
- There are no accounts, sign-ups or newsletters, so I never ask readers for their name or email.
- Google Analytics only runs if you allow statistics cookies in the cookie banner. Until then, nothing is sent to Google.
- The site's own server keeps a basic log of requests for 14 days, to keep the site secure and working.
- The server also counts page views as daily totals, which is what I show advertisers. You can switch that off.
- I don't sell your data or use it for advertising.
The converter
The conversion happens in your browser. If you copy a link to a result, the numbers are in the page address.
If you've allowed statistics cookies, pressing Convert also sends Google Analytics the temperature, time, unit and oven type you entered. That tells me which conversions people need. It doesn't include anything that names you.
Google Analytics
With your consent, the site uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are useful. It collects things like the pages you view, how you got here, your approximate location (country or city), and your device and browser. It sets cookies to tell visits apart.
The legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time in cookie settings. Google acts as my processor. It may process the data in the United States, and it is certified under the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
Google keeps the detailed record of what you did on the site, such as the pages you viewed, for 2 months. Data linked to the identifier that tells your visits apart is kept for 14 months, and that period starts again each time you visit.
Cookies
The cookie banner is provided by Cookiebot (Usercentrics A/S, Denmark). It stores your choice in a cookie so you aren't asked on every page. It also keeps a record of your choice, with an anonymised IP address, the date, and your browser type, because the law requires me to be able to show that you consented.
If you stop the page view count (see Server logs and hosting), a cookie called oventoair-nocount remembers that for a year. It's only set if you ask for it.
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time in cookie settings. The list below is kept up to date automatically by Cookiebot.
Server logs and hosting
The site runs on a DigitalOcean server in London. Like most web servers, it logs each request: your IP address, the time, the page requested, the page you came from, and your browser type. The logs are deleted after 14 days. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and working.
The site also counts page views on its own server, so it can tell advertisers how many people read each page. It keeps only daily totals for each page, for 90 days, with no IP addresses, cookies or anything else that could identify you.
Don't want your visits counted? This saves a small cookie that remembers your choice for a year, in this browser only.
Browsers that send a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal are never counted.
The fonts and everything else on the site are served from that server. Before you make a cookie choice, the only other service your browser contacts is Cookiebot, to show the banner.
If you advertise
If you email me about advertising, I use your email address and what you send, such as your name, business and ad, to reply, arrange the booking and keep business records. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in replying and running bookings, and keeping business records is a legal obligation.
Email to hello@oventoair.com is forwarded by ImprovMX and stored in my Gmail account (Google). I also use Claude (Anthropic), an AI assistant, to help me find enquiries and draft replies, so it reads them too.
These services may handle your email outside the UK:
- ImprovMX is a US company. It receives email in France and may pass it on through servers in the United States, under the standard contractual clauses in its data processing agreement.
- Google may store it in the United States, and it is certified under the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
- Anthropic may process it in the United States, under contractual clauses approved for transfers from the UK.
Email me if you'd like details of these safeguards.
I keep booking records for 6 years after the end of the tax year they belong to, which covers how long tax rules say business records must be kept. Enquiries that don't lead to a booking are deleted after 12 months.
If your ad runs, I tell you how many times its link was clicked. That's a total from this site's server, not information about who clicked.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you can ask to see the personal data I hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to how it's used. Email the address above. Analytics data isn't linked to your name, so I may need details such as the date and time of your visit to find it.
If you're unhappy with how I've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
If this policy changes, I'll update the date at the top of the page.
