Air Fryer to Oven Converter

Air fryer recipe, but the oven's already on or the basket's too small? Type in the air fryer settings and you'll get a fan oven temperature and time to start from.

Temperature unit

This gives fan oven settings. For an oven without a fan, see the note below the converter.

Guide instructions only. To make sure your food is safe to eat, use a food thermometer to check it has reached the recommended safe temperature.

When you'd want this

  • You're cooking for more people than the basket holds. Two or three batches in the air fryer can take longer than one tray in the oven.
  • The air fryer's busy. Chips in the basket, chicken in the oven, both ready together.
  • The recipe was written for an air fryer and you haven't got one. A lot of newer recipes only give air fryer settings.

How it works

It's the same rule as the main converter, run backwards. Add 20°C (36°F) to the air fryer temperature, then divide the time by 0.8, which adds about a quarter.

180°C in the air fryer for 16 minutes becomes 200°C in a fan oven for 20 minutes.

For a conventional oven without a fan, add another 20°C (36°F) to the fan oven temperature. For a gas oven, add the 20°C and use the nearest gas mark from the gas mark chart.
